Goffstown Village Center
Goffstown is a scenic town with mountains, forested hills, a winding river, a lake, and an attractive New England village center. It is located in southern New Hampshire, less than an hour north of Boston.
Goffstown's twin peaks, the Uncanoonuc Mountains (a Native American name that means "woman's breasts") once hosted a trolley service, an inclined railway, and a summit hotel.
The Piscataquog (a Native American word meaning"great deer place") River runs through the center of Goffstown, and supplies fresh water to Glen Lake which was formed by the construction of the Greggs Falls Dam, a site used for the generation of electrical energy.
The lake is a popular spot for fishing, kayaking, and is frequented by early-morning open water swim enthusiasts.
After the swim feel free to access other local recreational opportunities.
