The forecast seems to be changing every 15 minutes, but we are on for tomorrow! If there is any thunder we will hold off the start until it passes.
Swimmer Notes and Wave Assignments
The Glen Lake Swim; Viva Las Glennie is on for Sunday! The water temperature has been hovering in the low-70s so it will be very comfortable with or without a wetsuit. Attached below is the Wave Assignment document with your race number. You will receive a colored card at check in that corresponds to your wave assignment. It will be collected as you enter the water. As you enter the water we will also be recording the swimmer numbers of those wearing wetsuits. Any amount of neoprene, even shorts, puts you in the wetsuit division for scoring.
We are going to be doing the raffle a bit differently this year. In keeping with the Vegas theme, we have a Wheel of Fortune! In your packet there will be a SWEETWATER SWIM STUDIO business card (Stacy Sweetser is an excellent coach and a huge supporter of this event. She also holds the Women's one-mile course record at 25:47). The business card is your ticket to spin the wheel. Hang on to your card because once everyone has spun once you will get a second turn, and maybe even a third. Special thanks to New Wave Swim Buoy and Lymeez (anti-tick gators) for providing numerous prizes, as well as other sponsors.
Speaking of tickets, there is also a Viva Las Glennie beer ticket in your packet redeemable at the Mountain Base Brewery after-party which begins at 12:00 noon. We will be holding an Elvis Trivia contest at the brewery. The winner of the contest will receive a fabulous New Wave cooler. Mountain Base Brewery is in the shopping center 3.7 miles east of the swim venue. See the map on the Wave Info document.
We will have some cool Glennie hoodies available for sale for only $25 (see image below). Please bring a check. We's rather not deal with cash and we don't have provisions to accept a charge card.
